Enabling En-Route Pickup Requests

Same Day En-Route Pickup Requests can be configured so the notification is pushed to the driver's active Delivery Connect Mobile session, as long as they are entered before the cut-off time for the specified Service Plan, Spot Route, or the cut-off time in CustomerConnect settings. In this article, we will discuss the settings required for this feature to activate.

1. Confirm the client(s) meet the requirements.

To be eligible for same day en-route pickup requests, the client(s) must meet these requirements:

  • Must be an On-Demand customer

  • Must be assigned to a route

2. Configure the Company settings.

Configure the settings below:

  • In Spot, go to Setup > Program Configuration > Company > Customer Connect Settings > Customer Connect Profile. Select the desired profile and click Edit, then select Request Visits and adjust these settings:

    • Allow En-Route Requests: Enable

    • Allow Same Day: Enable

    • Allow Same Day Cutoff : Enter the desired cutoff time

  • Go to Setup > Program Configuration > Company > Route Settings and configure Schedule Route Visit Method to "API":

3. Configure the Store settings.

In Spot, go to Setup > Program Configuration > Store > Route Settings > Routes > Select the desired route and configure the following:

  • Route Type: "On-Demand" or "Dynamic"

  • Expected Start Time: Any time preferred

  • Expected Run Time: Anticipated run-time (in minutes)

  • On-Demand Scheduler Same Day Cutoff: Cut-off time desired (in the 24-hour format)

NOTE: None of the above-specified Route Settings pertain to Delivery Connect. Ensure that the Service Plan in DelCon has a proper Cut-Off time configured.
