Changing a Customer's Stop-Type

You might want to change the stop-type for a customer for many different reasons. Sometimes a customer might want to be on a set schedule, or they might want to receive deliveries on an as-needed basis, and sometimes their needs change. In this article, we will discuss how to change the stop-type for individual customers and default stop-types for service plans in Delivery Connect.
1. Understand the different stop types.
In Delivery Connect, there are two stop types:
Static Stop: A customer is included on a scheduled route.
On-Demand: A customer requests when they want to receive a delivery or pickup. There are 2 types of on-demand stops:
Ready Order: The order will be included on the next manifest that is created after the order is ready to go.
Request Visit: When the order is ready, the customer will receive a notification that we will deliver the order on the manifest following the order's promised date. The customer will have the option to reschedule the delivery if the date doesn't work for them.
2. Change the customer's stop-type.
Now that you understand the stop-types, you are ready to adjust a customer's preferences. Use these steps:
Log in to Delivery Connect.
Click on Service Plans.
Click on desired Service Plan.
Proceed based on whether you want to change an individual customer or an entire service plan:
Customer: Use these steps:
In the upper right side, click on List View.
Click on the "pencil" icon next to the desired customer’s name.
NOTE: You can see the valid Stop Type for each customer in the middle column under Service Days.In the Stop Setup screen, click the drop-down, and select the desired Stop Type for both Pickup and Delivery. The Delivery options in Delivery Connect are On-Demand Ready Order or On-Demand Requested Visit.
Service Plan: Use these steps to change the default stop type for a service plan:
Note: Existing stops on the service plan will maintain their existing stop-type. This changes teh default stop type for new stops added.
Click the "pencil" icon next to the selected service plan.
Click the “X” next to the Stop Type you want to change for Pickup and/or Delivery
Select the drop-down for the desired Stop Type.
Select Save.
